Name: Speaks-of-Stone
Pirate Name: Captain Stone Will
Race: Argonian
Age: 47
Distinguishing Traits: Stone, as his crew has come to call him, has a scar across his left eye that no one knows where it came from except his long time companion Messes-with-Hairdoo. He is missing his little finger on his right hand. His right shoulder once had an axe firmly planted in it and, despite the best restorative magick available, never regained a full range of movement in his right arm. Despite his scars and injuries Stone is still a deadly combatant.
Personality: Though he maintains the image of a strong warrior that uses few words while dealing with matters of business, Stone is very talkative and friendly to those close to him. His crew has even enjoyed the less than favorable vocal talents of Captain Stone Will on a rare occasion. This side of him only comes out while at sea and away from any strangers. When it becomes necessary to attain new crew members he dials back his personality until he has become familiar with all of the new members.
Strengths: Captain Stone Will has an innate talent in the use of broadswords and large axes, the heavier the better. Once he gets the weapon moving those watching would think that he is putting on a performance, the level of skill and ability to manipulate the movement of such large weapons is truly a sight to behold. Stone also carries around a handful of throwing knives on his belt but usually not for use in combat, he normally forgets about his knives while he is flinging around his large axe or sword.
Weaknesses: Though he has spent a decent amount of time studying defensive spells Stone is essentially at a loss if a battle turns to magick use. He has learned enough to put up defensive wards and a bit of stealth so that he can escape should a fight ever go that way, but any competent magick user could easily detect him and break his wards if not otherwise engaged.
Hobbies/Interests: Stone loves the open sea, not the swamps and marshes of his homeland, the sea. For this reason he spent the better part of his younger life seeking out a position that would allow him to stay at sea as much as possible. On top of his love for the sea he always enjoys throwing knives, he doesn’t care to what end but does prefer to have someone to throw them at. Captain Stone Will in well known for taking captives for the simple purpose of throwing knives at them until he hits a vital organ or two. His captives are normally enemies or people that have crossed him in some way but on a couple of occasions he has taken a lowlife off the streets for his own entertainment.
Backstory: As a hatchling Stone was considered troublesome and was adopted into a family that had taken on another troublesome Argonian. Stone and the other hatchling became close and he quickly decided two things. First he would do anything to protect this other Argonian, and second he was glad that he would never grow hair.
Stone and the other Argonian, which would later adopt the name Messes-with-Hairdoo, left the family as soon as Stone was old enough and strong enough to care for them both. Messes-with-Hairdoo was a troubled Argonian that did not see things the way others did, he was in a constant state of excitement from the time he woke til the time Stone knocked him out at night. As the two traveled Stone stole, fought, and killed whatever he had to in order to keep the two of them alive. This life led to Stone almost dying to a group of Altmer while traveling through Cyrodil, Messes-with-Hairdoo somehow managed to save them both from death, but that is a story for another time.
After a couple years of traveling Stone was enlisted to a crew of pirates and discovered what he was meant to do. He stayed with the crew for a year and then jumped from one crew to another until he landed a position on a Redguard captained ship in which he was leader of underwater combat as well as in charge of water based/amphibious assaults.
After 2 years among the crew he realized he desired more, the ship he was a member of had become one of the most notorious thanks to his efforts and he wanted more credit for it. The ship itself was a fine vessel, it was built as a corvette(or sloop-of-war) style ship boasting 10 heavy cannons and another 8 light cannons. The vessel was 107 feet long and had three masts, the ship had originally been designed as a combat vessel for the Redguard fleet but had been re-outfitted and modified to increase it’s speed as well as crew space. Stone would later claim the ship for himself using some less than favorable means, but the end result got him the position he desired. The ship was originally named “Usurper’s Faith” by the Redguard Captain but a few years after seizing command of the vessel Stone changed the name to “Knahaten Wrath” in an attempt to ride the common belief that Argonians were responsible for the Knahaten Flu.
In order to attain his position Stone had to strike a deal with the Dark Brotherhood and since being able to seize control 20 years before he has been in service to the Dark Brotherhood for their favor. Though he had nothing to offer the Dark Brotherhood they allowed him to make a deal indebting him to them, he would return their generosity and support by providing passage to any Dark Brotherhood agent to any destination for as long as he remained on the seas.
